Studio Chat:
Sustainable Social Media for Photographers
Join me for a focused, clarifying deep dive on social media strategy for emerging photographers.
If you want to promote your work, having an active, engaging social media presence is a must. Galleries, collectors, publishers, and grantors are paying attention - and a strong online presence can open doors.
But, how do you keep showing up and staying positive…when social media feels like shouting into the void?
In this short course, I’ll share my best strategies for creating beautiful, heartfelt content without driving yourself batty. I’ll share the strategies that helped me build a social media following big enough to run a full-time creative business - and I’ll share my best advice as a longtime curator, juror, and professional portfolio reviewer.
Whether your goal is to gain recognition, sell prints, or run a small photography business, you’ll come away with renewed enthusiasm, MANY more ideas about what to post, and a greater sense of freedom with how you show up online.
“Laura, your classes are among the best I’ve ever participated in – really packed with both hard-core information from someone who knows what she’s talking about, plus targeted and realistic encouragement and inspiration. Your presence and tone are consistent and your responsiveness to students is fabulous. I’ve taken a lot of online courses and your professionalism is matchless.”
Studio Chat
Welcome to my studio!
The Experience:
As soon as you sign up, you’ll get access to the Studio Chat. It’s a ~1.5 hour video that you can watch whenever you like (cozied up with an afghan and a glass of vino…or bright and early with your coffee). The Chat also includes guided brainstorming sessions, brass tacks strategies, and a juicy list of 75 social media prompts to inspire your posts. You’ll have lifetime access, so you can revisit it as needed.
This is for you if...
You have a small following and want more eyes on your work
You’re allergic to self promotion but want your images to be seen and enjoyed
You’d love to craft more powerful, meaningful posts…but struggle to find the words
Your relationship with social media feels draining (and you’re posting half heartedly)
You want to promote your work…without being a slave to the algorithm
You’d love a clear social media strategy and lots of new ideas for posts!
A bit about me...
I’m Laura Valenti, the artist behind Light Atlas Creative. I’ve had my fingers in a lot of pots in the art world, for over 20 years now. I teach interactive e-courses, support emerging photographers in my creative mentoring program, speak to photo groups, and curate exhibitions for galleries and photo festivals around the world. I also jury photo competitions and serve as a reviewer at portfolio review events, where I help photographers fine-tune their vision and promote their work with confidence.
I’m passionate about helping artists clear creative blocks and bring forward their most skillful, authentic, wholehearted work. Each of my offerings goes deeper than mere mechanics - into the heart of making your creative process brilliantly, joyfully alive.
There are three ways to experience this chat:
The first option is detailed above. The second option includes everything mentioned above and adds a 1-on-1 mentoring session. Here’s what that looks like:
Step 1: I will review your current social media profiles, your photos, and any other materials you’d like to share. I really will look at ALL of it.
Step 2: We'll schedule a 60-minute mentoring call. Ask me anything - it’s your time to use however you like. I’ll offer direct feedback on your social media (or social media goals) and help you strategize so your images shine and your messaging is clear.
The mentoring option is an excellent fit for people who are looking for detailed feedback and personalized advice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be online at a specific time?
All of my Studio Chats are self-study and self paced. No need to get dressed or do your hair for awkwardly-scheduled Zoom sessions! You can take as much time as you need to savor each Studio Chat fully, and you can rewatch as needed.
What social media platforms are we talking about here?
All of them! This Studio Chat focuses on overarching strategies (creating engaging content, messaging, serving your audiences, etc) that can be used effectively on any social media platform.
Will I get personal feedback?
The Studio Chats are self-study video workshops. If you’d like 1-on-1 guidance, sign up for one of the mentoring options (above) and we’ll do a deep dive on your photography, your goals, and your social media presence.
Can I bundle three of the Studio Chats instead of four?
The bundle discount is only available when you purchase all four Studio Chats together. If you’re not interested in one of the chats, you’re still getting a lovely, discounted rate. Purchase the Studio Chats à la carte if you’d like to sign up for a different custom combo.
What's your refund policy?
My classes are very highly rated, and many students take them more than once. Because you'll get immediate access to the Studio Chat(s) and all class resources (and because you’ll have lifetime access), your registration isn't refundable. Review the page above to make sure this offering is a good fit for you - and reach out if you have any questions.
Are the Studio Chats good for beginners? What about more advanced photographers?
Photographers at all levels will feel right at home in the Studio Chats. It’s never too early (or too late!) to think about making a greater impact with your work.
How long do I get to keep the Studio Chat(s)?
You’ll have lifetime access, so you can revisit them as needed.
