I made this image while camping in Joshua Tree National Park. Someone lit two candles to honor Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest that begins each Friday at sundown. This image is a diptych, though it reads as a single frame. The moon image was made on a cold, clear night at the Oregon coast. It’s a meditation on presence and peace. This is an archival pigment print. It’s printed on Hahnemuhle’s stunning FineArt Baryta paper, a heavyweight, richly-textured glossy paper that absolutely glows.
